Y’all, I can’t even…
These beef tips and mushroom gravy are to die for! We had none left after serving this meal. And let me tell ya why…
These beef tips are actually beef stew meat. You know, the stew meat you see in the store but don’t necessarily feel like beef stew? Well, move over beef stew because there’s a new sheriff in town when it comes to stew meat. 😉
These beef tips are braised in beef broth for 30 minutes before making the gravy. O.M.G, y’all, the gravy! The gravy is where it’s at. We were fighting over who got more on their plate. Because, um…gravy. I heart any and all gravy but this mushroom gravy really stands out.
It’s deep. And dark. And filled with mushrooms and freshly chopped garlic. It’s made from a base of beef broth- the same beef broth that the stew meat is braised in (remember our last Jamaican Oxtail Recipe Slow Cooker?). It’s delightful. And satisfying. And complements the braised stew meat to create the perfect comfort-food meal.
