- Shrimp:
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce
- Batter:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Boom Boom Sauce:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
- 2 tablespoons sriracha
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the shrimp, buttermilk, and hot sauce. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
- Heat 1 inch of oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Dredge the shrimp in the batter and fry in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Drain the shrimp on paper towels.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, ketchup, and garlic powder.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- For an extra kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the boom boom sauce.
- Serve with rice, noodles, or your favorite veggies for a complete meal.
