Steps To Making These Chicken Tenderloins With Lemon Pepper Asparagus
- Make the foil packets– cut 4-6 pieces of foil (depending on how many tenders you have- 3 go in one pack) roughly into 12 x 12 squares.
- Prepare the seasonings/season chicken– combine Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Stir to combine. Season both sides of chicken tenderloins with this mixture.
Assemble foil packets– put them together, baby! Assemble 6-7 asparagus spears in the center of a piece of foil. Top with 2 slices of lemon. Then place 3 seasoned chicken tenderloins over lemons. Cut 1 Tablespoon butter into 3 pieces and place a small piece on top of each chicken tenderloin. Close the packet tightly so the melted butter won’t escape. Repeat with remaining foil packets.
This is an easy, no-fuss, hardly any cleanup type meal.

- 4–6 Tablespoons butter, divided (1 Tablespoon per foil packet)
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 4–6 pieces of foil, cut into roughly 12″ x 12″ squares
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Season the Chicken
- Combine Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Season each tenderloin (on both sides) with a spice mixture.
Make the Foil Packets
- Place 6-7 asparagus spears in the center of one piece of foil. Place 2 slices of lemon on top of asparagus. Place 3 chicken tenderloins on top of lemons. Cut 1 Tablespoon of butter into 3 pieces. Place one piece on top of each chicken tenderloin. Close and seal packets tightly. Repeat until all foil packets are made.
- Place each foil packet on a baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through. Let sit for 3 minutes before serving. Careful opening packets, the steam is hot! Serve.

- This recipe works wonderfully on the grill as well! Just place the foil packets on the grill grates and cook until the chicken is done.
