Scale
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- ¾ cup sugar, divided
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste
- ¼ cup Journeyman Whiskey
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Heat the cream, milk, and half the sugar until warm. Whisk egg yolks and remaining sugar together.
- Temper the yolks with hot cream, then cook until thickened. Stir in vanilla and whiskey.
- Chill for 4 hours, then churn in an ice cream maker.
- Freeze for a few hours and serve.
Notes
- No worries! You can still make this by freezing the custard in a shallow dish and stirring it every 30 minutes until it reaches your desired consistency.
- Add mix-ins like chocolate chunks, caramel swirls, or even a little extra whiskey for a boozy kick. 🥃
- Top your ice cream with a drizzle of whiskey caramel sauce for an extra indulgent treat.
