- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 1/4 cups warm water
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt (for dough)
- 1/4 cup baking soda (for boiling)
- Coarse sea salt (for topping)
- Optional: melted butter for brushing
Instructions
- Mix warm water and sugar, then sprinkle yeast on top. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Combine flour, salt, olive oil, and yeast mixture. Knead until smooth and let rise for 1 hour.
- Roll dough into ropes, cut into sticks, and place on a baking sheet.
- Boil water with baking soda, then dip each stick for 30 seconds. Place back on the sheet.
- Brush with butter (optional), sprinkle with salt, and bake at 450°F for 12-15 minutes until golden.
Notes
- Feel free to experiment with different toppings or dips! Cheese sauce and chocolate are both delicious options.
- If you prefer a crispier texture, bake the pretzel sticks a few minutes longer, keeping an eye on them to prevent burning.
