Ingredients You Need to Make Puff Pastry Turnovers
- Puff pastry sheets
- Can of pie filling (any flavor)
- 1 egg
- Water
That’s it! If you want to add some icing it’s just two quick ingredients: powdered (aka confectioners) sugar and milk. Booya.

That’s like three a day my friends…for myself. Ha! I’m addicted to these things and the fact they are so easy to make means momma here is munchin’ on them all the time, yo.
Sure you can buy turnovers, but where I live they’re $4-6.00 for 4. I always need more than 4 because there’s 5 of us. If you make them yourself you can get 8 for $4-5 bucks. Steal, yo!

These puff pastry turnovers are so incredibly easy to make! All you need is puff pastry sheets and a can of any flavor of pie filling and you got yourself some deliciously scrumptious puff pastry turnovers. Winning!
Ingredients
For the Turnovers
- 2 puff pastry sheets (1 box)
- 1 can of pie filling (any flavor)
- 1 egg
- 1 Tablespoon water
For the Icing (optional)
- 1 cup confectioners (powdered) sugar
- 2 Tablespoons milk
Instructions
For the Turnovers
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Thaw puff pastry sheets according to package directions. When thawed lay each square out on lightly floured surface. Using a knife (or pizza cutter) cut each sheet into four squares to make 8 turnovers.
- Scoop 1-2 Tablespoons per filling onto the center of each square. Fold to form a triangle. Repeat until all turnovers are filled. Seal edges of each turnover together with the back of a fork. Place on ungreased baking sheet.
- Add egg and water to small bowl. Whisk with fork to combine. Brush egg wash on top of all turnovers. Bake for 18-24 minutes, or until puff pastry is golden brown. Let cool completely.
For the Icing (optional)
- Whisk together powdered sugar and milk with a fork in a small bowl. Add icing to ziplock bag and cut corner. Ice all turnovers as desired.
I did not know that icing was just milk and powdered sugar! … its a whooooole new woooooooorld!
