Ingredients
Scale
For the Fries: 1 lb frozen French fries (or homemade fries)
For the Toppings:
-
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup cooked and crumbled bacon
- ¼ cup chopped green onions
- ¼ cup sour cream
- ½ cup diced tomatoes (optional)
- Jalapeño slices (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the Fries: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread the French fries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake until golden and crispy (about 20 minutes).
- Prepare the Toppings: While the fries bake, cook and crumble the bacon. Grate the cheese and chop the green onions and tomatoes.
- Assemble the Loaded Fries: Once the fries are ready, sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly on top. Return them to the oven for 3-5 minutes or until the cheese melts.
- Add the Final Touches: Remove the fries from the oven and top with bacon, green onions, sour cream, and any optional toppings like tomatoes or jalapeños.
Notes
- For an extra kick, use spicy jalapeños or drizzle with sriracha.
- Experiment with different cheeses like mozzarella or pepper jack.
- These are best enjoyed fresh but can be reheated in the oven for crispiness.
