Yield 8 turnovers

These puff pastry turnovers are so incredibly easy to make! All you need is puff pastry sheets and a can of any flavor of pie filling and you got yourself some deliciously scrumptious puff pastry turnovers. Winning!

Ingredients

For the Turnovers

  • 2 puff pastry sheets (1 box)
  • 1 can of pie filling (any flavor)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tablespoon water

For the Icing (optional)

  • 1 cup confectioners (powdered) sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons milk

Instructions

For the Turnovers

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Thaw puff pastry sheets according to package directions. When thawed lay each square out on lightly floured surface. Using a knife (or pizza cutter) cut each sheet into four squares to make 8 turnovers.
  3. Scoop 1-2 Tablespoons per filling onto the center of each square. Fold to form a triangle. Repeat until all turnovers are filled. Seal edges of each turnover together with the back of a fork. Place on ungreased baking sheet.
  4. Add egg and water to small bowl. Whisk with fork to combine. Brush egg wash on top of all turnovers. Bake for 18-24 minutes, or until puff pastry is golden brown. Let cool completely.

For the Icing (optional)

  1. Whisk together powdered sugar and milk with a fork in a small bowl. Add icing to ziplock bag and cut corner. Ice all turnovers as desired.
